Peace and Tolerance in Pakistan

Peace and Tolerance in Pakistan
Mudeer Ahmed
In this modern world of social media, everyone has the right to speak in a democratic country. Today, every young student every single person of society has joined social media and it is a strong tool to use. But few people misuse this platform to just achieve their personal interests, those personal issues had taken many lives of innocent’s people. They use social media and that negative use of social media has badly affected our society.

That negative use of media costs many lives. The mob has killed Mashal Khan at the premises of the university on 13 April 2017. He is one of the victims of religious intolerance. He has the allegation of blasphemy. Another case reported in Ghotki in September 2019 on the same issue.
A Student blamed a Hindu Teacher that he was just acting blasphemy and a mob attacked the school and few Mandirs in Ghotki, district of Sindh. There are many other problems that create intolerance and tranquility in our beloved country.

The forced conversion of Hindu girls and the number of extremists are also a big problem of peace and tolerance. These issues are happening due to the lack of collective common sense, religious misconceptions, unfair and unjust election procedure for minorities, misinterpretations of Jihad, the partial and prejudiced religious discourse. The migrations of the non-Muslims from Pakistan, especially Hindus, insecurity of the holy sites of minorities, unjust distribution of socioeconomic resources. The absence of non-Muslim literature in the national educational curriculum, misuse of Blasphemy laws are some remarkable challenges to Interfaith Harmony in Pakistan along with human rights violation, gender equality, peace, harmony, and tolerance.

Pakistan is a multi-religious country, there are many people living in this Pakistan having different beliefs. In the Muslim dominant country, we must protect the rights of all minorities. And make sure them, that you are safe and free to worship your respects believes.

In doing so, we must educate the youth, students, and peoples about tolerance, peace, and brotherhood; according to the teachings of our Prophet (S.A.W). We shouldn’t forget the behavior of the Holy prophet towards Jews in Madinah and other non-Muslims in Makkah. (especially at the time of conquering Makkah). We must educate the people about civilized, democratic, and Islamic teachings. It is tremendously essential to emphasize the significance of the Interfaith Harmony through educational seminars, universities, media, workshops, and public meetings in Pakistan.

Youth must play a major role in order to promote and developing the idea of tolerance, peace, and interfaith harmony. The best activity to promote awareness among the people. we could follow the points that were discussed in one of the seminars at Punjab university. They are; don’t judge start accepting; hate breeds violence, spread kindness; hate-free zone or peaceful existence; and respect for all.
